You selected a handmade candle made with beautiful ingredients. Here are some tips so that you can get the most out of your candle. See, I'm not just a candle maker, but I'm a seasoned candle user! So I hope these help you as much as they've helped me.
- Safety first. For the well being of your body, home & loved ones, please make sure your lit candles are safely out of reach of children, pets, drapery & windows.
- Let it burn! Each time you light your candle, let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the glass. This will allow the candle to burn evenly across. Having a level wax pool is key to being able to enjoy your candle for a long, long time.
- Sometimes forgetful? That's ok. It happens to us all. But we never want to forget a burning candle. My favorite tip! Set a timer on your phone. Set it for 15 minutes before you have to leave the house or for 4 hours, whichever is shorter. Peace of mind is priceless.
- Trim the wick. Each candle wick is optimized for burning 2-4 hours. Sometimes the days & nights are long, so a candle might be left burning for more than the recommended 4 hours. What happens is you'll end up with a mushroomed wick at the end of the day. No problem - just let it cool. But before you light it again, be sure to trim that wick or else your flame will be too large. No fancy wick trimmer? That's ok! Just pinch it off and you should be left with a wick that is 1/8"-1/4" tall, which is recommended. My trick! Wet your fingertips before pinching off that wick so you won't be left with dirty fingers.
